Hash House on W Hamilton Ave in Campbell serves up a hearty breakfast experience with a focus on generous portions and flavorful, comfort-forward dishes. As a breakfast restaurant, it draws locals and visitors keen on starting their day with substantial, well-crafted plates rather than a quick cup of coffee.

The atmosphere is casual and open, with outdoor seating that catches the morning sun—making it a pleasant spot for those who enjoy dining al fresco on clear days. It tends to be quieter on weekday mornings around 9:30-10am, offering a relaxed vibe without feeling rushed or crowded. On weekends, the place maintains a steady but manageable flow, giving space for groups or family visits.

Menu highlights lean into bold combinations centered around their signature hashes and scrambles, combining classic breakfast ingredients with creative twists. For example, the Irish Hash melds corned beef with horseradish cream, while the Mexican Hash layers chorizo, jalapeños, and queso fresco over crispy potatoes. Other standout options include scrambles accented by fresh ingredients like avocado and goat cheese, and French toast variations that move beyond just sweet basics to include toppings such as candied walnuts and even a S’mores-inspired dish. Portions are sizeable, often shared among two if appetite is moderate.

The staff’s attentiveness contributes to a welcoming, easygoing dining experience. While service is generally smooth and friendly, a few details—such as the coffee quality—have drawn mixed reactions, so visitors might consider alternative morning drinks or stick with the classic breakfast fare.

This spot fits well for anyone looking to linger over a substantial breakfast, whether locals catching up with friends or visitors wanting a filling start before exploring Campbell or the greater San Jose area. Morning sun, a casual outdoor setting, and sizable, flavorful dishes make it a place tailored to a relaxed but satisfying breakfast outing rather than a quick grab or a coffee-centric stop.

Stopped to get breakfast here on our second day from visiting from Texas. The breakfast was phenomenal, just what we needed to start the day. We sat outside as the weather was extremely nice. Was not too busy when we went around 9:30am. The food was very tasteful and the portions where very big so consider sharing plates if you’re not too hungry or looking over your calories. We ended up leaving a lot of food behind and would have loved to take it home but since we’re driving all day we didn’t want the food to spoil in the car. My favorite dish by far where the chocolate chip pancakes. Probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The orange juice tasted good and the coffee was also freshly made. This is a nice little spot for brunch in a decent area of town that was quiet while we ate.

Came here with my sister and my son and it was amazing. Great food great vibes and the staff was all very pleasant. I will definitely be back when I visit San Jose again. Also it wasn't super busy at all on a Saturday morning.

Wow, the food was excellent and service as well. My husband ordered the Irish hash and it was a very hefty portion plus tasted fantastic. I had the avocado croissant which was the best I ever had with fresh arugula. The waiters were very attentive and pleasant.

Omg! The food here is so good! The portion sizes are generous. In fact enough for two meals or share with a friend. We really enjoyed both the hash browns and the Benedicts.

I have a mixed review here, we have seen this pace on multiple occasions and decided to try it out. The service was great and we were seated immediately and taken care of. We ordered coffee and when we took a drink, it was pretty terrible, almost tasted like a mix of gasoline and coffee grounds ( the waitress said it was peerless coffee ) I changed my drink to orange juice that was $7.50, but thatbis because its fresh squeezed (delicious) and that was where the terrible ended. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs (amazing!) and my wife ordered the breakfast sandwich (amazing also) If I had to judge this place by coffee alone, it would get a negative 1. But to be fair, everything else was great. Will we come back again, I would say yes.

Door Dash. Build your own omelette & hash browns & wheat toast. This place has all the classics. Update: It was so good, I had to go in. The omelette is 4 eggs! Loaded with mushrooms and sausage. Country potatoes are well seasoned and tender. If you eat there, show up with an appetite. Friendly service. Coffee is hot!

Pros: food is awesome, and the portions are huge. The kid's burger easily needed two kids! cowboy omelette was delicious, with the egg at it's ideal point. The chorizo scramble was good too. Food is served fast. The banana foster was insanely big and could be the perfect dessert for a family of 4. Service was great and non-intrusive, and we were seated in less than 5 minutes. There is parking in the front. Cons: the tables are a little small for the size of the dishes, but who cares with food on the table?
